How Does Your Garden Grow? // Strawberries and Wildflowers

Things have been a bit crazy this week. I have been working my butt off with cake orders and AJ now has chickenpox so unfortunately there hasn't been much time for gardening. Here are a few pics I took last week though. It's finally starting to look more colourful thanks to a £4.99 mixed pot from Aldi, a rescued half price delphinium blue from Tesco and that poor old geranium I salvaged from our neglected hanging basket a couple of months ago. The shrubs in the border are fluffing up and I've planted LOADS of bulbs in there too, because they were in a 70% off sale at the garden centre and I couldn't help myself!

Delphinium blue

Good old pink geranium, potted up with some younger geraniums and some white bacopa.

You can probably tell by now that I find it really hard not to buy anything that's on sale, so it goes without saying that I snagged not one but FOUR rose cuttings from B&M a few weeks ago. I am almost certain they won't flower but I have potted them up anyway. For £5 for them all it's worth a punt, right?!

Can anyone tell me what this is called? We were given it as a clipping. It's very strong and Nick had to cut it back earlier in the year because it was spreading so much! The flowers are lovely.

Withering away now, but still looking lovely.

Still amazed by these little plums!

Strawberries are a-comin'

The wildflower seed mix I sprinkled in the hanging basket (and the window box) are doing quite well. I can't wait to see what they'll be!

Nick has since mowed the grass so it's looking much neater. Happy with our little patch of greenery!
